Music can provide us terrific insight and understanding of the lessons we study in school and life. Below is a list of some of the ways we use music for learning in both history and English in Mrs. Barnett's classes at Fayetteville High School.

Special Projects
We Didn't Start the Fire - Billy Joel's amazing song takes a quick look at our world from the time span of his life up to this song's release in the 1980s. Check out the history projects related to this song. Essays on the project are graded for English class.

Ceremonial Music- Go here to learn about the songs of America. We take a music quiz on all of these in U.S. History! I purchased this music from itunes and play each song from my computer for students. To practice, we use our clickers as we listen to each song.
